Tell us about yourself! What is your academic/professional background and what led you to pursue graduate school in your field?
I graduated from Penn State University in May 2013 with a bachelor's in Life Science before starting an internship with the Potomac Institute of Policy Studies. Both my experience with the Institute, and my desire to gain more rounded professional experience were motivators to explore a master's degree.
How did you hear about us and why did you decide to study at Georgetown?
I traveled down to DC with my girlfriend after she was admitted into Georgetown and I felt in love with the campus. After doing some research about the programs on offer at Georgetown, I found the MS Biomedical Science Policy & Advocacy program. The program's dual emphasis on biomedical science policy and public policy, and the exciting internship opportunities fit quite well with my academic and professional goals.
What advice would you give current or prospective students looking to get into your field of study?
Always keep your head up for opportunities and stay aggressive.
